Dr. Waldman has many years of experience with breast reduction surgery and offers multiple techniques to his patients. We offer both traditional anchor scars and short scar techniques also called lollipop incisions. In rare circumstances, liposuction only procedures can also be performed.

• Incision type: This decision largely depends on the current size and shape of your breasts, as well as the extent of reduction you desire. Breast Reduction Surgery and Recovery

Prior to surgery, you may be asked to have a mammogram, blood work, or evaluation by your primary care physician. Patients are also required to quit smoking prior to surgery.

Breast reduction surgery is usually performed in an operating room with general anesthesia. This can be done at a local hospital or Surgery Center. Most patients are able to go home the same day and recovery time for nonstrenuous work is approximately 1 week. Plan to have physical activity restrictions for 4-6 weeks after breast reduction surgery. Surgery will make your breasts smaller, perkier, and lighter. The goal is to make your breasts more proportionate to your body type and your body scale thus relieving the issues associated with very large breasts.
